Transparent primer for HENSOTHERM wood coatings
HOLZGRUND AQ is a water-based, single-component, transparent and fast-drying primer. It saturates highly absorbent wooden surfaces and improves adhesion on smooth surfaces, ready for HENSOTHERM fire protection coatings on solid wood and wood-based materials.

- HENSOTHERM 2 KS INNEN black-anthracite
- HENSOTHERM 2 KS AUSSEN
Technical data
- Application rate: 60 to 100 g/m²
- Overcoat after approx. 4 hours at approx. +20°C and 65% relative humidity (varies with wood species)
- Apply undiluted. Stir thoroughly before use
- Apply by brush (long-bristled Chinex) or airless spray (0.013 inch tip). Compressed air spray: 1.2 mm
- Temperature above +10°C, relative humidity below 80%
- Wood moisture content below 10%. Sanding the wood surface is recommended
- Supplied in 5 kg and 10 kg plastic pails

How to Apply
Simple application with standard tools — no specialist equipment required.

1Prepare wood for HOLZGRUND AQWood moisture content below 10%. Sanding the wood surface is recommended.

2Check conditions for HOLZGRUND AQTemperature above +10°C and relative humidity below 80%. The dew point must not be exceeded.

3Apply HOLZGRUND AQStir thoroughly and apply undiluted at 60 to 100 g/m² by brush (long-bristled Chinex) or airless spray (0.013 inch tip).

4Allow HOLZGRUND AQ to dryAt approx. +20°C and 65% relative humidity, the HENSOTHERM coating can follow after approx. 4 hours.
