Fire Retardant Sprays for Fabrics and Textiles
Clear, water-based fire retardant treatments for indoor and outdoor textiles, made in the UK and supplied with a free Statement of Performance certificate.
The Flametect Nitro range treats natural, synthetic and blended fabrics. Choose Flametect Nitro for indoor textiles such as curtains, drapes, upholstery fabrics, costumes and stage sets, or Flametect Nitro D for tents, marquees, yurts and other outdoor textiles that need to stay protected in wet weather.
Both products work by soaking into absorbent fibres. When exposed to flame, the treated fabric is slower to ignite and less likely to spread flame across its surface.

Which Product Do You Need?
Flametect Nitro is for interior use. It dries completely clear with no change to the look, feel or drape of the fabric, and lasts up to 10 dry-clean cycles. Re-treat after any wet washing.
Flametect Nitro D is for interior and exterior use. Its water and UV resistant binder prevents the treatment leaching out in rain or during cleaning. It is a white emulsion that dries clear on absorbent natural textiles, is most suitable for cotton canvas, and is not suitable for decorative textiles.
Certifications & Performance
Flametect Nitro is tested to BS 5867 Part 2 Type B, BS 5438, BS 5852 Parts 0 and 1 and BS EN 13773:2003 Class 1, plus international standards including NFPA 701 and California Fire Marshal Title 19. Flametect Nitro D is tested to BS 7837 and BS 5438. Both are bromine and halogen free.
