How Flametect Nitro D Works
Flametect Nitro D works by disrupting the burning process. When heated, extinguishing gases are created and a flame retardant carbon barrier is formed, preventing flame spread. It contains a water and UV resistant binder, rendering it weather and water resistant and preventing leach out during wet weather and cleaning processes. This product is white in appearance and not clear. But it dries clear on absorbent natural textiles most suitable on cotton canvas.
Flametect Nitro D is a non-toxic, non-hazardous formulation that is easy to apply. It is produced in an ISO 9001 quality assured environment to exacting standards, and every order includes a Statement of Performance traceable to a UKAS accredited test report.

What Flametect Nitro D Cannot Do
Fabric must be absorbent for the treatment to work. It is suitable for tents, marquees, yurts and outdoor textiles and can achieve BS 7837 & BS 5438, provided the material meets this requirement. (Not suitable for decorative textiles)
Handling and Storage
Store Flametect Nitro D in a tightly closed container, in a cool, dry place, away from incompatible materials. Wash hands thoroughly after handling. If used for prolonged periods, wear chemical goggles and gloves to avoid unnecessary skin exposure.

2Apply the productApply using a spray, roller or immersion, working across the material for even coverage. Treats up to 10 square metres per litre, so measure your area beforehand to work out how much product you'll need. Ensure full coverage with no missed areas, as untreated patches won't carry the same fire retardant protection.

3Allow it to workOnce applied, the product's water and UV resistant binder locks the treatment into the fabric. This is what gives Flametect Nitro D its weather resistance — it's designed to prevent the treatment leaching out during wet weather or cleaning processes, so the fabric stays protected outdoors.

4Handle and store safelyWash hands thoroughly after handling, and keep the container tightly closed when not in use. Store in a cool, dry place away from incompatible materials. Wear chemical goggles and gloves if using the product for prolonged periods.
