What is this product?

Flexible fire resistant special adhesive

HENSOMASTIK K 2000 is a permanently flexible special adhesive, heat-resistant up to 750°C. It bonds fire protection boards with additional mechanical fixing, bonds and seals fire protection boards in ventilation duct construction, and is used as an installation aid for insulation materials.

Its high elasticity makes it suitable for joining materials with very different thermal expansion, such as fixing insulation between the outer and inner walls in railway carriage construction.

Using This Product

How to Apply

Simple application with standard tools — no specialist equipment required.

    Prepare surfaces for HENSOMASTIK K 2000
    Surfaces must be free of contamination. Ambient temperature above +5°C, substrate at least 3°C above dew point and above 0°C.

    Apply HENSOMASTIK K 2000
    Stir thoroughly. Apply with a notched trowel, short pile roller or brush, or directly from the pail or cartridge, at 100 to 1,500 g/m². When bonding materials of different densities, apply to the denser material.

    Join with HENSOMASTIK K 2000
    Allow 8 to 20 minutes flash-off depending on the amount applied, especially overhead or vertical, then join and press firmly. Workability time is 15 minutes at 20°C.

    Clean up after HENSOMASTIK K 2000
    If work stops for more than 20 minutes, clean tools immediately with water.
  5. 5
    Allow HENSOMASTIK K 2000 to dry
    Approx. 24 hours at approx. 20°C and 60% relative humidity.
