Important Two-Part System Requirement:

HENSOTOP 84 AF is a top coat and must be used over a base coat of HENSOTHERM 1 KS INNEN (available separately). The top coat on its own does not provide any fire classification.

HENSOTOP 84 AF is a solvent-based, single component, fast-drying, transparent top coat, free from aromatic substances, for HENSOTHERM 1 KS INNEN fire protection coating for wood in indoor use. It must be applied after HENSOTHERM 1 KS INNEN has dried through, to provide protection against moisture.

HENSOTOP 84 AF is available in two gloss levels, matt or silk matt.

Technical data

  • Application rate: 50 to 100 g/m²
  • Dust dry after approx. 30 minutes, fully dry after approx. 8 to 10 hours, at approx. +20°C and approx. 65% relative humidity
  • Application by brush or roller (short pile velour or mohair), or airless spray with a 0.009 to 0.011 inch nozzle
  • Dilute with HENSOTHERM V 84
  • Material and surface temperature above +15°C, relative humidity below 70% during application and drying

    HENSOTHERM 1 KS INNEN is colourless and transparent after drying through. Only then apply HENSOTOP 84 AF.

    Check conditions for HENSOTOP 84 AF
    Material and surface temperature above +15°C. Relative humidity below 70% during application and drying.

    Stir HENSOTOP 84 AF
    Stir thoroughly before application.

    Dilute HENSOTOP 84 AF
    Dilute with HENSOTHERM V 84. Up to 5% for brushing or rolling. 5 to 15% for airless spraying, depending on the device.

    Apply HENSOTOP 84 AF
    Apply by brush or roller (short pile velour or mohair), or by airless spray with a 0.009 to 0.011 inch nozzle. Larger nozzle sizes are not recommended. Application rate 50 to 100 g/m².
